     I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy during this very uncertain


    time.  I miss being in the classroom with you all each day and cannot wait to


    return to room 120.  As you work through the review packets please keep



    in mind the great online resources we've been using all year too! 


    You have logins for sites  such as RazKids, Sumdog, FastForWord,



    Reflex math, Kahn Academy, Think Central, Qwerty Town Typing


    and Prodigy Math. Many museums and zoos have


    some wonderful virtual field trips to check out.


    Generation Genius has some great science videos and mini lessons.


    Be sure to kick back with a chapter book and/or keep a 


     journal of your daily routine.  Please email me if you need any


    help getting onto  these educational  sites.

    I am very excited to meet all of you and get started on a fun filled year of learning!  This year we will journey through many different topics including rocks and minerals, Earth's systems, solar system, ecosystems, multiplication, division, fractions, division, geometry, decimals, writing workshop (memoirs, DBQ essays, personal narrative, persuasive essays, poetry), North America, early civilizations, technology and of course reading, reading, reading! We will be reading some very engaging novels including Wonder, Tuck Everlasting and Esperanza Rising just to name a few.  Please check out the fifth grade supply list located on the school district website or here on my site. Please visit the resources section for helpful sites that we use in the classroom. Usernames and passwords for all are coming soon.







    Just a reminder that both Fast ForWord and Raz Kids can be used in place of 

    your nightly reading assignment.   



    Please send an email or give a call if you would like to sign up to be a quest speaker.   









    Students are all set up on Think Central which means they can access the Journeys textbook at home.  Notices have gone home with usernames and passwords but can also be found in the front of the organizer.  Please also look there for other helpful sites such as Raz- kids, Sum Dog, Fast ForWord and Xtra-Math.
