Voter Information
Voter Eligibility
On May 20, 2025, District residents will have the opportunity to vote on the school district’s proposed budget for 2025-26 and candidates for the Board of Education. You are eligible to vote in the school district election
- Be a citizen of the United States of America
- Be 18 years of age or older on the day of the vote
- Be a resident in the Miller Place School District for at least 30 days prior to the vote date
Voter Registration
You may register in the Office of the District Clerk, located at the Administration Building, 7 Memorial Drive, Miller Place, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Registration is for new residents or those residents who have not voted in a Miller Place School District election in the past four years. Proof of residency will be required. This registration is only for school district votes and elections.

Student Voter Registration
Students may pre-register to vote at the ages of 16 or 17 but cannot vote until they are the age of 18. Visit the following links to the NYS Voter Registration Form:

Board of Education
District residents who are interested in running for a Board of Education position should contact Ms. Louise Tromba, District Clerk, at (631) 474-2700 ext. 738 or ltromba@millerplace.k12.ny.us to request nominating petitions. Nominating petitions are available starting March 3, 2025. There will be two (2) seats on the Board of Education up for election this year. The term will run from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028.
Nominating petitions must be submitted to the District Clerk no later than Monday, April 21, 2025, in order to appear on the ballot for the May 20, 2025 election. Ballot positions will be drawn on April 22, 2025.
Absentee Ballots
Registered voters who are unable to appear at the polls in person due to illness or physical disability, hospitalization, or travel, may vote by absentee ballot. New York Early Mail Voting
Registered voters who wish to vote early may participate in the new early mail voting. Applications for early mail voting ballots may be obtained through the Office of the District Clerk. Military Voters
If you wish to register as a Military voter with the District only, please complete the military voter registration form and if you would like to receive a Military Ballot, please complete the Application for Military Ballot.
