    College Board Scholarship Opportunities Beginning With The Class of 2020 

    The College Board is investing $5 Million per year in the these scholarships beginning with the class of 2020 (current Juniors).  There are various scholarships being offered with certain criteria and deadlines.  Come to The Guidance Office for more information.  *Note-one of the Scholarships has a deadaline of June 2019, so don't delay!

     


    Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (R.P.I.) Medal Award

    This merit scholarship is awarded to exemplary high school students who excel in mathematics and science.  This merit scholarship has a value of $1,000 and is guaranteed for four years for each medalist who is accepted and enrolls at Rensselaer.  Students must be in the top 10% of their class.  Please come to the Guidance Department if you are interested in being nominated.

     Rochester Institute of Technology (R.I.T.) Award Program

    There are two awards being offered for Juniors who are interested in attending R.I.T. in the Fall of 2020.  This award recognizes high school juniors who have distinguished themselves academically, are active and involved members of their school and community, and demonstrate outstanding achievement in innovation, creativity, or entrepreneurship.  Student must rank in the top 10% of their class.  If interested please come to Guidance to discuss with your Guidance Counselor.

    Clarkson University Leadership and Achievement Awards

    These two awards are for Juniors who are interested in attending Clarkson University in the Fall of 2020.  The student must demonstrate leadership and have an academic interest in Engineering, Business, Science or Liberal Arts.  Students must also be in the top 15% of the class.  If interested, please come to Guidance to discuss with your Guidance Counselor.


    Pathway to Nursing

    St. Francis Hospital, April 16, 2019, 6:15-8 P.M.  The Future of Nursing Committee is sponsoring an evening to discover the pathway to nursing.  Students will have a chance to speak to nursing professionals and meet with Nursing School representatives and have all their questions answered.   For more information come to Guidance or RSVP to Meredith.Pujdak@chsli.org


    Cornell University Cooperative Extension Suffolk County

    The Suffolk County Farm and Education Center is offering a 2019 Veterinary Medicine Career Exploration program for 10th, 11th and 12th graders.  This program is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career in Veterinary Medicine.  They are also offering other high school opportunities for students to work with farm animals and and get hands-on experience working on a farm.  If interested, please come to Guidance for more information or visit www.ccesuffolk.org 


    Free Online Tutoring 

    Public Libraries of Suffolk County is offering free online tutoring for students to get help with homework, practice standardized tests online, and other areas of school work.  Come to Guidance for more information or go to Livebrary.com and click Homework  Study help to get started!
