ALL 2020 NYSSMA SOLO FESTIVALS AND MAJOR ENSEMBLES ARE CANCELLED.

NYSSMA LEADERSHIP IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING OPTIONS FOR ALL-STATE AUDITIONS FOR THE 2020 WINTER CONFERENCE.

Sight singing requirements

Level 5-Keys of C, F and G, D and Eb,  4/4, 3/4 and 2/4 time signatures, skips include an ascending do-mi-sol  and ascending Do-Sol, range of an octave (DO-DO), half,quarter and eighth note rhythm, identify a quarter rest, piano and forte dynamics

 Level 6 and All State-Keys of C, F, G, D and Eb, 4/4,3/4, 2/4 and 6/8 time signatures, same skips as Level 5 but add ascending and descending fourths and fifths, do-mi-sol, sol-ti-re.  Add triplets, eighth rests and crescendo and decrescendo dynamic markings.
